Edo is a high-performance and high-quality image compositing application designed for maximum flexibility. Edo lets you combine and manipulate video files, 3D sequences and still images in a non-destructive way using a powerful node graph visual interface. The use of modern video card graphics processors (GPUs) enables true realtime performance, and support for industry standard file formats helps integrate Edo into many kinds of workflow. |

The philosophy that guides PureData is a simple but powerful one: the software must first provide the user with generic tools rather than imposing pre-cooked effects. In other words the user should have total freedom. GridFlow follows that philosophy: it first defines elementary mathematical operations. Those can in turn be used as simple visual effects or be combined to produce more complex effects. The strategy followed by most video plugins for PureData, jMax, and MAX/MSP, is to provide the user first with constructs for manipulating video streams at a fairly high level. The strategy put forward by GridFlow is different. |

Jitter is a brilliant collection of video, matrix, and 3D graphics objects for Max Jitter extends the Max/MSP programming environment to support realtime manipulation of video, 3D graphics and other data sets within a unified processing architecture. Because Jitter, like Max/MSP, is generic in nature, it offers unlimited possibilities for creative exploration. Whether you are interested in video processing, interactive art, teaching new media, or data visualization, Jitter offers both high and low level tools for working in exciting new ways. |

FreeJ is a vision mixer: an instrument for realtime video manipulation used in the fields of dance teather, veejaying, medical visualisation and TV. With FreeJ multiple layers can be filtered thru effect chains and then mixed together. The supported layer inputs are images, movies, live cameras, particle generators, text scrollers, flash animations and more. All the resulting video mix can be shown on multiple and remote screens, encoded into a movie and streamed live to the internet. FreeJ can be controlled locally or remotely, also from multiple places at the same time, using its slick console interface; can be automated via javascript and operated via MIDI and Joystick. |

PD (aka Pure Data) is a real-time graphical programming environment for audio, video, and graphical processing. It is the third major branch of the family of patcher programming languages known as Max (Max/FTS, ISPW Max, Max/MSP, jMax, etc.) originally developed by Miller Puckette and company at IRCAM. The core of Pd is written and maintained by Miller Puckette and includes the work of many developers, making the whole package very much a community effort. |
