Videoex 2008 - The Winners 05.06.2008

The international Jury,

Alexandra Gramatke from Hamburg, Filmmaker and managing director of the Short Film Agency Hamburg,

Erwin van t’Hart from Rotterdam, curator of the Filmfestival Rotterdam, and

Robert Buchschwenter from Wien, lecturer at the universities Wien and Salzburg, filmcurator and publisher, awarded

First Price of ther International Competition:


„Lovely Andrea“ by Hito Steyerl from Austria


Two Special Mentions were given to


„Ah, Liberty!“ by Ben Rivers from England and


„No Dumping“ by Monica Petracci from Italy.




The Swiss Jury, Duscha Kistler, Director of the Animationfilmfestival Fantoche and Ursula Biemann, artist, curator, and lecturer at the Arts School Genf, awarded
„Zwei oder Drei Versuche eine Idee umzusetzen“ by Marie-Catherine Theiler and Jan Peters.


The Audience Award was given to „1 km Zürich Hardbrücke“ by Luc Gut from Zurich.

Videoex , international experimental film and video festival, is a place of exchange between filmmakers and the audience. The festival is constantly trying to examine the perception of images, different aestethic strategies, new ways of using technology in experimental film and video works and serves as a get-together for experimental film makers and video artist.

 

International & Swiss Competition

Due to the large amount of entries (almost 2000) we have received the selection is not yet done. The definitive selection of the works that will be presented at the festival will be available in about 2 Weeks( 20 April).
